Design-Technology-led learning experiences are planned for and feature within long, medium and short term planning.
Design Technology is taught through practical, appropriate activities which help to provide a context for the children’s learning.
Opportunities are planned for children to work independently and collaboratively, either in small groups or as part of the whole class. Links are made to other subjects such as English, Science, Geography and Art.
We follow the ‘Design, Make, Evaluate’ approach to the teaching of DT, as outlined in the National Curriculum Programmes of Study document. The technical skills we teach encompass the following areas: Construction, Mechanisms, Textiles and Food and Nutrition.
